As almost any woman will tell you, finding a way to make our legs appear slimmer and more shapely is a constant challenge. Exercise and diet usually just doesn’t cut it either. Leg fat is stubborn! Procedure Options

1.) Liposuction
Liposuction is a very popular option for contouring the legs. For the contouring of the legs, liposuction can be very successful if performed carefully. Fat is the ‘liquid gold’ that enables  plastic surgeons to fill in hollows, add volume, contour and reshape. It takes on the properties of the area it is injected into, which in this case are the muscles in the calf area. “The procedure takes approximately 1-2 hours and can be performed under local anesthesia. Not only can the thighs be shaped, but also the buttocks and calves in order to create a shapely, proportionate body contour. In terms of lasting results (and bronzer-free clothes), liposuction is leaps and bounds ahead of makeup.

2.) Thigh Lift
Another option for shaping the thigh area is a thigh lift. A thigh lift can help to correct sagging skin and fat on the thighs. Patients who have lost a significant amount of weight can often benefit from this procedure, though patients who are simply unhappy with lax thigh skin often undergo this surgery as well. There are multiple thigh lift techniques, including a limited medial thigh lift, which addresses the skin on the upper inner thigh, the medial thigh lift, which addresses the skin on the entire inner thigh, and a lateral thigh lift, which address the skin on
the lateral thighs and buttocks.

Thigh lift accomplishes two goals at once: reduces the amount of unwanted fat and trims excess, loose skin. This is a great option for someone that has lost a lot of weight (perhaps from bariatric surgery), has significant sagging skin and tissues and needs more sculpting than liposuction alone can provide.

3.) CoolSculpting®
CoolSculpting® is a great option for those with fat deposits on their inner and outer thighs. This FDA-approved fat freezing procedure freezes fat without harming surrounding tissues. Using a special applicator, fat is frozen and killed for long-lasting results. There is little to no downtime associated with this procedure, so patients can return to their everyday routines as soon as they feel comfortable. Smart Lipo is performed under local anesthesia with minimal downtime. The added benefit of using Smart Lipo Laser Liposuction, rather than traditional liposuction, to treat excess fat bulges of the legs, is its ability to further tighten the skin and improve cellulite.
